Our Story: Clean-Label Sausage Made from Family Tradition

Centuries-Old Family Recipes. Modern Ingredient Standards.

Mulay’s began with generations-old Sicilian family sausage recipes brought to Colorado in the early 1900s. Today, those same traditions live on through clean-label sausage and meatballs made with heritage breed pork raised with No Antibiotics Ever.

Founded by Loree Mulay Weisman, Mulay’s has grown from a small sausage stand in Crested Butte, Colorado into a nationally distributed, certified woman-owned company known for allergen-friendly, gluten-free, and clean-label meat products.

As the first and only meat company Certified Free From the Top 9 Allergens, Mulay’s continues to lead with simple ingredients, transparent sourcing, and bold flavor rooted in family tradition.

From a Local Festival to a National Brand

In 1990, Loree and Ward Weisman began making Mulay’s sausage to sell at the local Fourth of July festival in Crested Butte, Colorado. What started as a small family operation quickly grew through word of mouth, quality ingredients, and a commitment to doing things differently.

More than 30 years later, Mulay’s remains family-run and committed to the same standards that built the company from the beginning.

Our Mission

Mulay’s exists to create clean-label sausage and meatballs made with responsibly raised heritage-breed pork and simple ingredients families can trust. We believe delicious food should also be transparent, allergen-friendly, and sustainably sourced—without compromise.
